CAFHUT SL (World Agroforestry Centre)
This Dataverse contains baseline data and related materials collected as part of the CGIAR Research Program 6 (CRP6) on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (FTA) under the Theme: Sentinel Landscapes. The baseline sampling methodology consists of four instruments;
(i) Land Degradation Surveillance Framework (LDSF) for collecting land health indicators
(ii) the sentinel landscape household module for collecting socio-economic indicators
(iii) the IFRI methodologies for collecting political and institutional indicators and
(iv) the Grameen’s Progress out of poverty methodology for tracking household poverty over time.
The baseline data was collected in the years 2014, 2015 and 2016 in 4 sentinel sites namely: Ayos, Etiolomo, Lomie and Mintom. The standardized methods and instruments have been adapted to collect baseline data on land health indicators, people's livelihood, cropping systems, and utilization of tree and forest resources for monitoring purposes. The data generated is being used to assess the relationship between livelihoods and land health in forested landscapes, which have been exposed to various forms of land-use change.
